Having Discomfort After Ashburn Dental Crown Placement
It is quite normal to feel some discomfort immediately after a dental crown placement. It is a natural side-effect. Your tooth is probably not yet over the loss of its enamel.
While performing the dental crown placement procedure, much of the enamel has to go. Indeed, I file away most of it. Possibly even all. The tooth's nerves will feel tender and respond to friction, pressure and temperature changes. This is the reason you feel that sharp tingling feeling when you receive your new dental crown. But you won't have to suffer long. Within two days, the sensation will stop.
Another post-procedure problem is that the crown may be taller than you want. This would go back to the dental technician in sticking to what I had originally asked for. Now, either I etch off some of the upper parts of the dental crown, or order another crown from the technician.
The discomfort might also suggest an ill-fitting dental crown. The inner core of the dental crown that we built is either too shallow or deep. There could also be a mistake with the crown's diameter, which means it can't go on to the base part of the tooth root.
Fixing this depends on what the crown is made of. With a gold dental crown or both gold and porcelain, it makes the whole corrective process a lot easier. A characteristic of gold is that it is relatively soft. We can shape it easily so we are able to correct the problem without hassle. If we were to use porcelain dental crowns, there could be more work to do for the dental technician when it comes to making the alterations.
In any event, we want you to go away satisfied. We truly hope that we live up to your expectations. We'd do everything we can so that you don't go away without being totally happy with the treatment. We also want you to look good. It is important to remember that we are not running the show. You are. We have a minor role to play, that of giving you the skills and equipment so that your dreams and ambitions come true.
