The crossroads of life offer us a lot of choices on the best road ahead. On many occasions, we lurch blindly. The road we choose, we go on and on and never know where we are or where we will end up. Ashburn dentist Fotolia_6452934_XS.jpg

It is not like that when you visit my Ashburn dental clinic. I can assure you, there is nothing mysterious about your future treatment. I won't let you feel left out. You will know everything you need to know. You will know all the details about the hazards you may face and how you will benefit. You will know exactly what to expect long before we prod you with a single dental tool.

I am very good at restoring teeth. I do this a lot at our Ashburn implant dentist office as well as replacing lost teeth. We must first install an artificial tooth root that has to be permanently connected to the jaw. You can look at it as if we are fitting you out with a prosthetic, allowing the bone cells to swell in numbers around the submerged part of the root and hold it there. You now have a brand new root that is close to the real thing. After that, I will put in the crown. It will mimic the characteristics of your original teeth, in color, texture, shape and size.

With an implant, I put certain restrictions on myself. I won't go overboard. I do not do anything to the teeth next to it. I will leave them alone. By protecting your other teeth, I make sure they will be as strong as they have always been.

You can't compare Ashburn dentist implants to dentures. Our implants won't cause problems for your gums by rubbing up against them. Implants are harmless. You are protected from the rasping effects that frequently occur with dentures. An ideal dental structure would be pink gums that lie over the jaw bone. If we can achieve this, it helps to maintain a healthy mouth with good teeth.

For implants, infection is something I'm constantly aware of. I would again take a very conservative approach. Unless I'm convinced you should get an implant, I won't go through with the procedure. Once we are ready, you will undergo surgery and we will arrange for post-op visits. You need to come back so we can guarantee that everything goes like clockwork. There is no such thing as goodbye in my office. Even after your implant has been fitted, I won't stop checking up on you. I'll keep doing it until I'm confident the whole thing went well and you are happy with your new implant. Your time is my time because this Ashburn implant dentist cares for you.
